Course Code: HLTAID011

Objective: To equip participants with the theoretical knowledge and practical application to competently administer emergency first aid, as well as the treatment of other illnesses and injuries in accordance with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines.

Assessment: Provide First Aid has both practical and theoretical elements, where participants demonstrate procedures of techniques used and exhibit the necessary knowledge on administering First Aid in accordance with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines and the Health Training Package. Alternative assessments can be made (eg. Oral) if required.

  • Practical and theoretical assessment

Length: This course can be conducted in one of two ways at the discretion of the client:

  • A one day course
  • A short course covering all practical components with theory assessment covered in a workbook

Validity: The Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) recommends that ‘HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid’ be renewed every 3 years.
